Does my insurance meet VBA Requirements?
As a licensed plumber in Victoria, you are required to hold a public liability policy that covers all aspects of the work you perform. To receive or renew your annual VBA license this insurance must meet certain criteria.

Public Liability Insurance
✔ Cover limit options for Public Liability start at $5 Million
✔ Cover limit for other liability starts at $250,000
✔ Cover for non-domestic and domestic plumbing work
✔ Cover for the cost of rectifying defective or incomplete plumbing work, as well as trade practices and public or completed work liabilities, for six years after the completion of any plumbing work.
✔ Cover for plumbing work over three storeys
✔ Error and Omission (Product) Cover up to $250,000
✔ Cover for Type B Gasfitting work
✔ Certificate of Currency includes your full name, the name of your insurer, your policy number and the period of time you are covered
If you are a Victorian plumber, we will also send your Certificate of Currency directly to the VBA to assist with finalisation of your plumbing license renewal.
Insurance options offered

Public liability insurance provides financial cover for a business up to the limit of liability the insured has chosen.

I’ve got a policy with Marsh, how often should I be reviewing it?
