Does my insurance meet VBA Requirements?
As a licensed plumber in Victoria, you are required to hold a public liability policy that covers all aspects of the work you perform. To receive or renew your annual VBA license this insurance must meet certain criteria.
Having serviced the plumbing industry for over 20 years, we know that your day is busy enough without having to worry about whether your insurance policy meets VBA standards or not. To help, our brokers have worked with insurance provider, Chubb, to help offer plumbers’ public liability cover that ticks all the boxes. Making it easier for you to arrange or renew your license, and get back to the job, quick.

Insurance options offered
If you accidentally injure a third party, such as a client, or damage their property (including items), you may be liable to compensate them for their loss or injury, and for the legal costs incurred. Public liability insurance provides financial cover for a business up to the limit of liability the insured has chosen.
Personal accident insurance, also known as personal injury insurance, is designed to pay out compensation if a person suffers a serious injury or death as the result of an accident. It can cover against loss of income and based on the insurance policy purchased, can also provide financial cover for bills and other expenses.
Tools & Equipment
We all know the saying ‘A tradie is as good as his tools'. If your tools are damaged, lost or stolen it can be an expensive exercise to get them replaced. Make sure your tools and equipment are covered for replacement or repair if damage or loss occurs.

I’ve got a policy with Marsh, how often should I be reviewing it?
The answer to this question is largely dependent on how frequently changes occur to your business. Whether it’s business growth, a change in the complexity of work, or expanding out your services, there are several changes that should trigger an insurance renewal or review. As a rule of thumb, we recommend reviewing your policy every year to ensure your business is covered appropriately for its risk exposures.
