Get Yoga Teacher & Instructor Insurance Online

As a yoga teacher, you want to help your students focus on achieving their Zen. That’s why we aim to take the stress out of public liability and professional indemnity insurance so that you can focus on the more important things: your clients and business.

Why do Yoga Teachers need Insurance?

While there are currently no regulatory insurance requirements for yoga teachers, we recommend considering professional indemnity cover for your business. Professional indemnity insurance can help cover you and your business if someone suffers a loss, injury or property damage after following your advice or receiving your service.

It is also a common requirement by gyms, studios and other public facilities for yoga teachers to have a public liability policy before being granted access to use the facility for business activities. Public liability insurance can help protect yoga teachers against financial losses if a third party claims that they’ve sustained an injury or their property has been damaged due to the instructor’s negligent business activities.  Even when the yoga teacher is not at fault, they can still incur significant legal costs in defending themselves against claims.

Claims example

While moving through a transition at one of your yoga classes, a student experiences a sharp pain in his hip. He doesn’t tell you about it at the time. The following week, the student claims against you for negligent advice and demands compensation for his musculoskeletal injury that has impacted his ability to work.

Regardless of whether this allegation is true, a scenario like this could place a substantial financial strain on your small business. Also, if word gets out, your reputation as a yoga teacher may be affected, therefore impacting your business's future success.

The claims examples on this website are for illustrative purposes only. The circumstances of a claim and the policy’s full terms, conditions and exclusions would determine coverage for a specific claim.
